The influence of context on text has been alive for as long as communication between different people has existed. The importance of context is based on a wide range of issues that must be discussed to give credence to the part of communication under study. One influence that context gives to text is mood. The context of a certain communication may determine whether the text will be mellow, sad, happy, angry or dull. In some instances, the context in a given text maybe an argument. In understanding such context one will realize that the text is sad or angry because the two individuals are arguing about a certain factor that is affecting them. The importance of subject matter gives life to the communication media or model being attempted. The social relationship between participants is also revealed by the use of various factors in the communication. A social relationship between the two different people may be that of friends or it might have been foes. It is important that the communication expert understand the basic tenets of relationship before they can conclude their context on the story. The identity of those communicating gives a context because it gives relevance to the subject matter in every situation being demanded. The communicating partners may be reasonable; in that they are able and ready to set a pace for their communication. In the absence of factors that would make the two calm down, the situation may escalate into a fight. The third influence of context on text is that it gives credence to the channel of communication. The channel of communication is important because it gives a guide into how the two will be communicating. In the instance that the two are using a mobile phone, the use of communication cues such as signals will be minimal. One can use the phone even when they are in bed and thus, the channel will cool off the anger that an individual might have. Where the two people are arguing face to face, the use of words may be toxic as some people may tend to be abusive or inarticulate in their anger stupor.
